I WAS NEVER A DIXI XHICKS FAN

I was never a Dixie Chicks fan, but in the last two years I have grown to have more respect for them than almost any other band in the main stream. They were willing to throw their entire carrier away to be able to say what they believe. And now there is a movie about what they have gone through for the past three years and NBC wont sell its commercial air time because it “they are disparaging to President Bush.’” So NBC will not let anyone say something bad about Bush on TV?

There is an argument about the laws regarding running campaign ads on TV. But that would not apply because it is clear who is financing this ad and who is to profit (the movie studios promoting a movie). So the only reason must be NBC trying to protect George Bush.

Two great quotes from this preview:

“Freedom of speech is fine but by God you don’t do it in mass publicly” – Some retard.

What the fuck is that? What does freedom of speech mean if it is not in public? Is he not in public talking to a TV camera?

“They shouldn’t have their feelings hurt just because people don’t want to buy their records.” – George Bush

Maybe it was the death threats or the fact that corporations that support you are trying to kill their carrier that they are upset about.

I don’t even like the band and it pisses me off.

Read more in Variety or see the actual ad NBC won’t air
here.
